As True as Love can Be (Chapter Three)
She reached out for the plate of salmon avocado sushi, as it passed her. She removed the cover and lifted a piece of the sushi up using her chopsticks. She chewed gently on it. She then took a sip of the hot green tea. She lifted another piece of sushi.
“Indeed if that is what you wanted,” Cannosa walked into the dining place and sat beside Destiny.
“Yes, I've always wanted salmon avocado. Salmon alone is much too plain for my liking.”
“Do we have to disrupt her life? I mean she is too young to handle all these.”
“Do we have to? Cannosa, you are the one who picked her. I merely did a follow-up. I kind of like her. She is like me, she creates love from within. She fashioned romance and crafted characters to love her. I guess you must be having a hard time finding her True Love?”
Cannosa gingerly lifted a plate of tuna sushi and placed it in front of him. “Destiny. You will never win. I will never win.”
“Enough said. Do not continue. You should know the reason. We are the forgotten ones. Our paths are not fixed and our roles are not changed. You do your stuff, I’ll do mine.” Destiny stood up.
“Stop poisoning her mind with your lies!” boomed Cannosa.
“Maybe if you stop filling her mind with your feeble words about love, I might consider stopping. I am in the process of changing the destiny of two people. I will make sure that all is well and nothing gets in the way!” Destiny paid and left the place.
Cannosa swallowed the tuna sushi. If indeed love was that simple.
Chapter Three: What is True Love?
Sahx grabbed Destiny’s arms and pulled her to one side. She giggled. She tried to suppress it. She giggled once more.
“Sahx. Is there something you want me to know?”
Sahx giggled once more. In a final attempt to suppress the infectious giggle, Sahx held her breath and looked up into the sky. “I’m finally meeting him. I’m finally meeting him.”
“Oh, you mean Cannosa. That’s good for you.” Yet, an eerie silence perpetrates throughout the surrounding. Destiny continued, “Then you must be prepared. Expect the worst, my dear. The virtual world is all but lies and deceptions. You can never be too sure. Don’t carry too much hope.”
“I know, I know. But I can’t help it. I am so excited. I can’t breathe.”
Destiny looked serenely at Sahx. She was impressed by her innocence, her excitement and her mannerisms. Maybe Destiny was too old for all these. She had lost all these since a long time ago. Destiny smiled at Sahx and said, “Perhaps you should tell Cedric about it. Maybe he has something to tell you.”
There was a momentarily awkward silence. Sahx looked onto the ground. Her previous energies soon left her. She felt weak in her heart. Her emptiness. Her void. All these were slowly sapped away, into a vortex. A regret still remained within her.
A love she harboured so deep, was not given away. A love she kept so initimately, was not given away. A love she grasped so tightly, was not given away. It was not because she cannot give it away, it was because she knew it will get rejected anyway.
Cedric, a name her heart was so used to.
Cedric, a name she hoped she would associate herself with.
Cedric, a name she pined for so long.
Cedric, a name deeply imprinted in her little world.
She could not know if Cannosa was to fill the emptiness, the void and simply a convenience to give her love away. She never had anyone talk to her like Cannosa did. She never had anyone to feel her feelings, cry her sadness, laugh her happiness. Cannosa seem to be the one.
Destiny had stirred her little world. It was bitter.
“Sahx, I am sorry if I said anything wrong. But still, I feel that your true love is not Cannosa. Love is an unbalanced equation. A balanced one will only mean that the love is too shallow.”
“But Cannosa said that true love is balanced. It is the connection of a unique pair within the universe. When they meet, they know that the equation is balanced. They will love each other equally. No heartaches, no pining and no pain. Only true love. The world today creates only forced love, where one will love the other more. It is unfair. The equation will not be balanced. It is true. I like Cedric. Yet, I know he does not like me. How true can our love be, if there is one in the first place?” Sahx started sobbing. Tears tickled down like a gentle snow wafting through the dampen air.
Destiny answered, “Cannosa is no expert. If indeed love was created this way. Then I am sorry to say, none of you will have been born. Ha. A unique pair within the universe? What is the probability of them meeting?”
“I am confused. Destiny, am I doing the right thing?”

The MSN main interface stayed the same. No-one logging on, no-one logging off. It has been a few hours since Sahx stared so intently at the screen. She fiddled with the MSN main interface window, closing and reactivating it. She did it so many times that one MSN conversation window popped up, “Hey, Sahx. So free ar…..its really irritating that you keep loggin in and loggin out……get alive!”
“SORRY…….and cheese off!!!!!” Sahx hastily typed.
Other than this sudden outburst, the virtual world from Sahx’s point of view remained stagnant and dull.
There was a tinge of yearning within Sahx. For whom the yearning pines, Sahx was at a loss. She did not know.
Destiny had stirred her little world, like a witch stirring the cauldron of connotations that will burst and spew magic. Yet, for Sahx, it was not magic, but a pain. A numbed pain that Sahx had grown accustomed to. A pain that was the price to pay for such unseen love.
Does Cedric know that she likes him a lot? Maybe yes, maybe no. If yes, why did not he respond? If no, at least make it a fast and swift one for her.
Was it Cedric’s fault then? Sahx wondered. She rather then that he does not know, not even a bit.
Ding~~~~~ the MSN notification sounded. Sahx’s heart raced.
“Hey Sahx. Waiting for me?” It was Cannosa.
“Yea. Sort of. I guess. I thought you are not loggin on.”
“I was busy, finding someone.”
“Finding someone?”
“Yea, finding someone special. It’s what I do. Nevermind about me. So how’s your day?”
“Fine…..Cannosa can you answer me truthfully?”
“Of course! You are making it sounds so serious.”
Sahx trembled. She wanted to know something, yet, she gave way to her weakness. She would rather hear someone else say it. She typed, but her heart typed for someone else, “Do you like me?”
“Hmmmm, I guess I do. Remember what is love? True Love is the someone special within this universe, just for you. And you, likewise, is the someone special just for him. I guess I am the him. Anyway, we are meeting face-to-face soon. I hope I can find out more about you, and you get to know me better.”
“Yea, the someone special.” Her heart pained.

The lazy sun tanned the crystal skin. The mild waves lapped the golden beach. The lady of craft and wisdom stretched herself and lay on the baked sand. It was not awhile, that the sky soon turned dark. She sat up and said, “Enough Brother, what tidings do you bring forth?”)
